FAQs

Answers to common questions about monk fruit, how it works, and how to use Keto & Green Monk Fruit Drops.

Q: What is monk fruit?
Monk fruit is a small green fruit traditionally grown in Southern China, particularly in Guangxi, and known for its naturally intense sweetness.

Its sweetness comes from naturally occurring compounds called mogrosides. Because monk fruit is naturally very sweet, only a few drops are needed at a time.

Our Monk Fruit Drops are made with just monk fruit and water, with no erythritol, stevia, fillers, preservatives or artificial sweeteners.

Q: Where does your monk fruit come from?
Our monk fruit is sourced from Guangxi in Southern China, the traditional growing region for monk fruit cultivation.

The climate and agricultural expertise in this region are known for producing monk fruit prized for its natural sweetness and quality.

Q: Is it a sweetener?
Monk Fruit Drops are a naturally sweet food ingredient rather than an artificial sweetener or additive.

Think of them more like honey or syrup in terms of the role that they play in your pantry, but used drop by drop rather than by the spoonful.

Q: What makes monk fruit sweet?
Monk fruit contains naturally occurring compounds called mogrosides, which are responsible for much of its characteristic sweetness.

Because that sweetness is naturally intense, Monk Fruit Drops are used a few drops at a time rather than by the spoonful.

Q: What are mogrosides?
Mogrosides are naturally occurring compounds found in monk fruit that contribute largely to its sweetness.

They have also been studied for a range of properties including antioxidant activity.

Q: Is it keto?
Keto & Green was born from our own experience of reducing sugar and carbohydrates, and Monk Fruit Drops can fit easily into low-carb and keto lifestyles.

A 6 drop serving reference contains less than 1 kcal and less than 0.2g carbs.

As with any dietary approach, the amount you use will depend on what you're pairing it with and your own preferences.

Q: Does monk fruit contain sugar or carbs?
Because it is a fruit, monk fruit naturally contains sugars, so these appear in the full nutrition declaration. But because monk fruit is naturally very sweet, only a few drops are needed at a time.

A 6-drop serving reference contains less than 1 kcal and less than 0.2g carbs.

Q: What does monk fruit taste like?
Monk fruit has its own natural flavour profile rather than tasting exactly like sugar. Some people notice soft fruit notes or a gentle lingering sweetness, while others mainly notice the sweetness itself.

We recommend starting low, stirring well and adjusting to taste, as the flavour can come through differently depending on what you're adding it to.

Q: How do I use it?
Start low, stir well, then adjust to taste.

  • Coffee: start with 4-6 drops
  • Tea yogurt & smoothies: start with 2-4 drops
  • Baking & recipes: start with 8 drops, then build gradually

Different foods and drinks need different amounts depending on their flavour profile, so starting low gives you more control over the final sweetness.

Q: Why water?
Water is used to draw the naturally sweet components from the monk fruit and create the liquid format used in our Monk Fruit Drops.

The result is a naturally sweet food ingredient made with monk fruit and water, designed to be used a few drops at a time.

Q: What about sustainability?
We bottle our Monk Fruit Drops in recyclable glass and aim to make thoughtful choices at every stage of production.

For us, sustainability is an ongoing process rather than a finished claim, and we'll continue looking for ways to improve.
